This page demonstrates the vertical toolbar used on many pages of this site.

• The vertical toolbar (VTB) is created dynamically. It will not appear if Javascript is disabled.
• The VTB floats for IE6 when the window is scrolled. For modern browsers it uses fixed positioning.
• The VTB on this page has 3 buttons, but you can have any number of buttons.
• The VTB's '^' button scrolls the window to the top of the page.
• The VTB's '>' button closes and opens the right side-bar.
• The VTB's 'm' button opens a popup menu which contains links to every H3 heading in the document. These links are created dynamically.

Most of the code deals with implementing the button actions. That is where you'll make most of your changes depending on your application.

In several places, the code uses 2 IDs from the page-layout html ('leftColumn' and 'rightColumn'). These are the two IDs you'll need to change according to your layout. The remaining class names and IDs used by the code don't need to be changed.

Marija Gimbutas (Lithuanian: Marija Gimbutiene, born Marija Birute Alseikaite) (Vilnius, Lithuania January 23, 1921 – Los Angeles, United States February 2, 1994) Lithuanian-American archeologist, researcher of the Neolithic and Bronze Age cultures of "Old Europe", a term she introduced. Her works published between 1946 and 1971 introduced new views by combining traditional spadework with linguistics and mythological interpretation.

Both of Edo Nyland's theses are in contradiction to current opinions of linguists, who tend to suppose polygenesis of language families and language changes caused by natural evolution.

Unbelievable? Edo Nyland gives many convincing proofs in this book:

• There are hundreds of examples of words, taken from different languages, being decoded by the same method, revealing their hidden meaning.
• The decoding method is successfully applied to the translation of the forgotten language OGAM, the remains of which are found on standing stones of Ireland, Scotland and North America.
• Other currently available translations of Linear-B Text on Cretan clay tablets, supposed to be written in ancient Greek, and of the enigmatic book AURAICEPT of the Benedictine monks, supposed to written in Celtic language, have been considerably improved by the same decoding method.

The book can be read easily by interested laymen. Scholars of linguistics, stone-age and medieval history, religion and anthropology might use this book for a critical revision of their current paradigms.
