Converting from cbe_core to X

Yes, I know I'm about 9 years late!

It has been a long time since I did any HTML/JavaScript work, but I am looking at some very old code, from the late 1990s, which I would like to revive.  It was written using cbe_core, which I gather is not ancient history.

Could someone direct me to some documentation which will ease me into the current world?

Re: Converting from cbe_core to X

Hi calberga, Welcome to the forums!

Wow, it's great to hear from someone who used CBE! Yes, that's been several years ago, LOL.

Here's the only relevant doc I found - I thought I had a "CBE to X Upgrade" doc somewhere, but I can't find it - I'll keep looking for it. If you need it, this zip has CBE documentation.

Most CBE methods should map directly to corresponding X functions. For example...

cbe.left -> xLeft
cbe.height -> xHeight
cbe.offsetLeft -> xOffset
cbe.pageX -> xPageX
cbe.addEventListener -> xAddEventListener
etc.

for css styles like cbe.visibility, cbe.zIndex, etc., use the X function: xStyle.

If you have questions about specific CBE methods feel free to ask.

Thanks!

Re: Converting from cbe_core to X

Thank you so much for the quick reply!

I wrote the code well before 2000, and haven't looked at it (or JavaScript for that matter) since, so it will take a little while for me to reconstruct what I was doing!

I think I'll look at the .js files and see what cbe stuff I used and work from there.
