i.axes

Can someone help me out please? I have an error with the most recent xanimation.opacity.js (line 6) Can't figure it out without fully understanding.. but I tried thoroughly by changing things and testing the result.

Chrome:
Uncaught TypeError: Object #<a xAnimation> has no method 'axes'

FF:
i.axes is not a function

->see this website

off topic: In the load() function I would like to hide everything until the images are downloaded and the function resize is fully terminated. Then I would like to let it execute fadein() which animates the opacity of the outer div.

kind regards, Bart
ps: thanks for getting xOpacity to work in google chrome

Hi sharethewisdom, sorry for the late reply. I'm taking a look at your question now. Thanks!

Re: i.axes

Hi sharethewisdom, download the latest distribution file (x422_xag10_xpp10_z2.zip). That should do it. The latest xAnimation is rev 5 and the latest xAnimation.opacity is rev 3.

Re: i.axes

Just an idea, but try giving the div with id="outer" "visibility:hidden" in CSS. Then when the resize is done, call fadein, something like...

function fadein()
{
  var e = xGetElementById('outer');
  xOpacity(e, 0);
  e.style.visibility = 'visible';
  if (!xa) xa = new xAnimation();
  xa.opacity(e, 1, 500, 0, 0);
}

Re: i.axes

same problem when I updated all js files and used the following code:

var XA = []; // array of xAnimation objects
function fadein(xa)
{
  var e = xGetElementById('outer');
  xOpacity(e, 0);
  e.style.visibility = 'visible';
  if (!xa) xa = new xAnimation();
  xa.opacity(e, 1, 500, 0, 0);
}

Re: i.axes

The xanimation.js you're using is rev 4, but rev 5 is the newest. Maybe that file did not get over-written.

Re: i.axes

hmm sorry
in Firefox, 'outer' div is still shown before the load is completed, unless I use css for the initial hidden visibility. I would like to avoid that just in case javascript is disabled. Is there a way to make it parse in a different order or so?
thank you very much for your quick support btw!

Re: i.axes

Yes, that's a valid concern. One way to handle that is to document.write the "hidden" rule. So if Javascript is disabled then it won't get written. For example, it could be placed immediately following the style element...

...
</style>
<script type='text/javascript'>document.write("<style type='text/css'>#outer{visibility:hidden;}<\/style>");</script>
<script type='text/javascript' src='x.js'></script>
...

Thanks! smile
